RTM Moulding Mat

The RTM moulding mat is a high-performance material designed for advanced composite manufacturing. Its three-layer structure, customizable design, and excellent resin compatibility make it ideal for producing parts with uniform thickness, high strength, and superior surface finish.

Product Advantages:

  • No Chemical Binders: The mat is free from chemical binders, ensuring excellent compatibility with various resin systems (e.g., polyester, epoxy, vinyl ester).
  • Integrated Structure Design: Provides better resistance against resin flushing and wrinkling during the moulding process, ensures uniform thickness and homogeneous glass fiber distribution in the final product.
  • High Glass Fiber Content: Delivers superior mechanical properties, such as strength and stiffness, in the finished parts.
  • Dedicated PP Flow Layer: Enhances resin flow and permeability, reducing voids and ensuring complete impregnation of the fibers.
  • Excellent Mouldability: Suitable for complex mould shapes and geometries, making it ideal for intricate parts.
  • Customizable Thickness: Available in various thicknesses to meet specific part requirements.

Product Applications

Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM)

Vacuum-Assisted Resin Transfer Moulding (VARTM)

Light RTM

Other VARTM-relevant technologies

Warp Knitted Fabrics / Non-Crimp fabrics (NCF)

Warp knitted fabrics (Non-Crimp Fabrics) are high-performance materials designed for advanced composite applications. Their customizable fiber orientations, excellent mouldability, and superior mechanical properties make them ideal for industries such as marine, sports equipment, rail transportation, automotive, construction, and wind energy. These fabrics offer a combination of lightweight, strength, and durability, making them a preferred choice for demanding applications.

Product Advantages:

  • Excellent Mouldability and Permeability: Ensures efficient resin flow during the moulding process, improving production efficiency, suitable for complex shapes and geometries.
  • High Fiber Content and Light Weight: Provides superior mechanical properties (e.g., strength, stiffness) while keeping the weight low.
  • Good Surface Appearance: Minimizes „print-through” (visible fiber patterns on the surface), resulting in a smooth and aesthetically pleasing finish.
  • Non-Crimp Fibers: Maintains the full strength and stiffness of the fibers, as they are not distorted by crimping.
  • Customizable Fiber Orientations: Allows tailoring of mechanical properties to meet specific application requirements.

Stitched Mat

With the properties of uniform thickness, good wet tensile, high mechanical strength and easy operation, the stitched mat is made of chopped strands which are randomly dispersed and stitched together by polyester yarn, which is mostly used in pultrusion, RTM, filament winding processes.

Stitched & Combo Mat

A layer of glass fiber surface veil acts as the base material which is compounded with a layer of glass fiber chopped glass yarn before stitching with polyester yarn together.

Woven Roving & Combi Mat

Woven Roving & combi mat: a layer of E-glass woven roving fabric and a layer of uniform, non-directional chopped yarns stitched together.

Product Advantages:

  • Products are customized on the basis of roving TEX.
  • Compatible with polyester and epoxy resin system
  • Fast wet out, good permeability.
  • Excellent mechanical properties

Product Applications

Radome

Fairing

Pultrusion and hand lay-up processes with products of pultruded profiles

Woven Roving

As an important reinforcement for hand lay-up process, glass fiber woven roving is a bidirectional fabric made by interweaving direct rovings.

Product Advantages:

  • Excellent permeability for improvement of production efficiency.
  • Excellent mechanical properties
  • Multi-resin-compatible

Chopped Strand Mat

It is a non-woven E glass fiber mat product manufactured by spreading chopped glass fiber of 50mm in length randomly and uniformly in combination with chemical binder in powder or emulsion form.

Product Advantages:

  • Lower consumption of the resin
  • Uniform weight distribution
  • Excellent mouldability
  • Easy air release
  • Fast wet out

Product Applications

Various sheets and panels

Boat hulls

Sanitary ware

Cooling Tower

Anti-corrosion materials

Surface Mat

Surface mat is widely used in the skin coat of FRP moulds and products. There are two types of surface mat applied in two different processes accordingly, filament winding process and hand lay-up process.

Product Advantages:

  • Good surface appearance of finished products
  • Excellent fiber distribution
  • Low binder content
  • Corrosion resistant
  • Good mouldability

Product Applications

Filament winding type: pipes and storage tanks

Hand lay-up type: contact moulding for FRP moulds and parts
